Biography – Shumet Geremew Asabie
Shumet Geremew Asabie, born July 19, 1992, is an Ethiopian chemistry and engineering professional with strong academic and teaching experience. He holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from Addis Ababa University (2016) and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering from Bahir Dar University (2020).
Shumet has worked mainly in Ethiopia, serving as a lecturer, researcher, and team leader at Debre Tabor University, laboratory coordinator, and part-time chemistry teacher at Harmony Hills Academy. He has also taught science subjects at secondary level.
He has completed various trainings, including pedagogy, project management, safety, and IELTS (overall band 6). Shumet is skilled in laboratory techniques, data analysis, scientific writing, and software such as ANSYS, Aspen, MATLAB, and MS Office.
His research includes energy systems, improved cookstoves, bio-pesticides, and materials characterization, with publications in journals like BMC Public Health.
